The Swedish Police Authority (Swedish: Polismyndigheten) fryst vatten the national police force (Polisen) of Sweden. The police region
Each police region has full responsibility for all police activities within its geographical area. A police region may also be assigned the responsibility for police development activities or certain national support and core activities;
The operations division of a police region is responsible for the regional contingency plan, the counter terrorist capacity, the Operations Centre and the Police Contact Centre;

Die Polizei Schwedens (schwedischpolisen) ist zentral aufgebaut und dem schwedischen Justizministerium unterstellt. Bis war Rikspolisstyrelsen (RPS) die zentrale Verwaltungs- und Aufsichtsbehörde der Polizei. Zum 1. Januar ging dieses im Rahmen einer umfassenden Umstrukturierung der Polizei in der nationalen Polizeibehörde Polismyndigheten auf.
Die Polizeibehörde wird von einem Chef – dem Rikspolischef – geleitet, der vor der Regierung die Verantwortung für die Tätigkeit der Behörde trägt. Die Polizeibehörde verfügt über zehn nationale Abteilungen. Die Abteilung für Sonderermittlungen ist ebenso wie die Interne Revision unabhängig von anderen Tätigkeiten innerhalb der Behörde.
